untitled…..

Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot,
who calls you back when you hang up on him,
who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat,
or will stay awake just to watch you sleep…
wait for the boy who kisses your forehead,
who wants to show you off
to the world when you are in sweats,
who holds your hand in front of his friends,
who thinks you’re just as pretty without makeup on.
One who is constantly reminding you of how much
he cares and how lucky his is to have you….
The one who turns to his friends and says, ‘that’s her.’

How To BE a BETTER COUPLE!!

March 27th, 2007 by cathy-r21

1. Be realistic about each other.
Don’t try to turn ur partner into something he or she is not. Let’s face
it, guys-there’s only 1 Pamela Anderson in the world, and even she has
had her implants removed! Give ur gal a break and understand that her physical
appearance is NOT going to change overnite with the help of a few facials
! or treat ments. And ladies, Brad Pitt has already been taken, so u’re
gonna have to do with what ur guy is like! Chill out, love each other for
what u are. There is more to ur partner than what meets the eye.

2. Always talk things out.
Now guys, I know this is not ur fave pastime or mode of resolving issues,
but u know what? This works with the gals. Don’t make assumptions about
each other’s feelings. Learn to xpress urself better so that ur partner
undrstands what u’re angry about, or hurt about, or even happy about! When
u stop talking to each other from the heart, it’s the beginning of the
end.

3. Do stuff together.
Make an effort to do things together. Do some sports or involve urselves
in some shared activities; something both of u enjoy or are interested
in. It could be as simple as watching movies together, or jus strolling
hand-in-hand down Orchard Road. Watch soccor with him once in a while though
the green patch on TV puts u to sleep in 3 seconds. And guys, do give in
if ur gal asks for another day at window-shopping, rather than suggest
that she go out with her girlfriends for "that sort of activities"
instead. If u’re spending more time with ur friends rather than with ur
partner, it’s a warning sign that u’re drifting apart!!!

4. Meet each other halfway.
If he agrees to throw out that rotten T-shirt with the "The_Rock"
print, u shouldn’t kick up much of a fuss if he asks u to keep ur room
tidy. There’s gotta be a little giving and taking in a relationship, so
learn to meet each other halfway.

5.Show ur love
Buy her flowers or candy or perfume everynow and then, even if u have been
together for 5years. It’s wonderful to continue showing someone that u
care for him or her. Cook him a special meal, paint him a Valentine’s Day
card. Knit him mini-socks he can’t wear ( like for decoration purposes
=> ), buy him a packet of milk for breakfast, or pack his wardrobe for
him…so he knows u can still be romantic and loving despite having been
together for quite a while.

6. Respect each other.
Stop making jokes about her hair or skin, or whatever it is u love to laugh
at. Ask urself if she thinks if its funny. And if he has an inferiority
complex about his height, stop ogling at tall guys and make him feel worse!
Love is about respecting each other’s feelings and being sensitive to each
other at all times.

7. Bury the past.
Stop bringing up the past. Gals..don’t bring up the happy things about
u and ur ex to ur guy, it would jus make him jealous or unhappy. And guys,
don’t talk about the happy times that u had with ur ex or mention about
her in ur every other sentence as it would make ur gal feel un-happy and
she might think that u saying all this b’cos u are gonna get back with
ur ex or not interested in her anymore.
<
/P>

8. Sit on u r jealousy.
All of us go thru’ spells of insecurity at the beginning of the relationship,
but don’t translate that insecurity into jealousy. If u’re gonna go through
ur partner’s mail and cupboard, and eavesdropping on conversations, u know
something is wrong - with u!!! Jealousy is like a poison that slowly spreads
thru’ the relationship before finally killing it. Trust ur partner; love
has to have trust in it.

9. Keep ur commitments to each other.
If ur partner is standing u up all the time and cancelling dates and breaking
promises, u need to talk! If u’re in a relationship, make ur partner ur
priority and don’t disappoint them if u can help it. It’s really terrible
when someone promises to take u to dinner, and then calls to cancel it.
Don’t make promises u can’t keep. If ur partner starts to feel that he/she
is not important enough to u, u may jus lose him/her.

10. Be honest.
Honesty is not scowling at how awful she looks first thing in the morning,
or telling him that he has the biceps of a fly~! When we say "be honest",
we mean expressing ur feelings clearly, not being bitingly cruel. When
u’re hurt, say so, and when u’re angry, tell him/her, w/o getting hysterical.
If u can’t be honest with ur partner, who can u be honest with? f Love
is also about honesty, and a relationship where no honesty exists probabl!
y isn’t worth it!

Someday

January 30th, 2007 by cathy-r21

Someday you’re gonna realize
One day you’ll see this though my eyes
By then I won’t even be there
I’ll be happy somewhere
Even if I cared
I know you don’t really see my worth
You think you’re the best guy on earth
Well I’ve got news for you
I know I’m not that strong
But it won’t take long
Won’t take long

Someday someone’s gonna love me
The way I wanted you to need me
Someday someone’s gonna take your place
One day I’ll forget about you
Someday someday

Right now I know you can tell
I’m down and I’m not doing well
But one day these tears they will all run
dry
I won’t have to cry, sweet goodbye

Words of Truth

January 30th, 2007 by cathy-r21

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there…to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be but then you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and to open your heart and eyes to little things. Make every day count.

Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.

Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen.

Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high.

One Step Plan

January 30th, 2007 by cathy-r21

We human beings certainly are fond of steps. I noticed this especially the other day when I was browsing at a local book store. As I passed by the self-help section I noticed that almost every book had steps in the title. There were books with steps for success, for making money, for dieting, for improving your marriage, for raising children, and for invigorating your love life. Now I haven?t read any of these best sellers, so I am not sure if they work or not. It just seems strange to me that we human beings have to make everything such hard work.

After all, what is harder than climbing up a flight of steps except maybe climbing them while carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. I know too many people, however, who insist that those steps be climbed and that weight be carried. They refuse to believe that a good life can be fun, that happiness can be easy, and that joy and love can be simply chosen. They don?t believe that God could love us enough to give us these things as free gifts.

All these things they believe must be earned through hard work, discipline, sacrifice and climbing the steps of adversity. If they do allow themselves one moment of joy it is only after earning it with months of misery.

For all of these people then I offer my one step plan to joy, love, peace, and happiness. It is easy to implement, requires no special equipment, and can be done any time. It is simple to remember and even more simple to do. You just choose these things right now. Choose them in your mind, heart, and soul. Choose them this very second and they are yours. They remain yours too for as long as you keep choosing them. They are God’s gifts to us His Children.

These people, of course, won’t follow my plan. It is too simple, too easy, and doesn’t have enough steps. I hope that you do, however, and make your life a living testament to joy.

The Story Of Kyle

January 30th, 2007 by cathy-r21

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.

My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives." He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!" There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play football on Saturday with me and my friends. He said yes.

We hung all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him. And my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Damn boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!" He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn’t me having to get up there and speak.

Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than me and all the girls loved him! Boy, sometimes I was jealous. Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you’ll be great!" He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. "Thanks," he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began. "Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach… but mostly your friends. I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story." I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his mom wouldn’t have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable."

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize it’s depth.

My Longest Goodbye!!!!!

December 13th, 2006 by cathy-r21

It’s when you realise it was all for nothing. It’s when you realise it was all just a little too late. And all in that one second, your head is so jammed full of other thoughts, wild fantasies and romantic stories, that you miss the oppertunity. The oppertunity to say … the words that are never said. If you think about it, it’s easy.
"I love chocolate"
It’s not hard. But when you change one little word, it all gets too hard. And then you miss the moment. And moments are elusive things, you can never get them back. Sure, create new ones, but it’s like a cover of a Beatles track, they always sound cheap and nasty, and well, contrieved. Because, lets face it, they are.
There is never the same raw passion, the same self-sacraficial optimism for the future. Flinging yourself over a cliff face with a parachute you’ve never tested out. A leap of faith.
But then, to loose, not only that moment, but also the one person in the world you thought you thought you’d share that one moment with…
It’s the parachute not opening
The power cut
The unfinished master piece
The still-born baby
A waste
A tragic wasteland of broken hearts.
Tredging through masses of unfulfilled hopes, wants, wishes, dreams, desires, needs… weighed down with the weight of tears, dragged backwards by a false smile.
An embrace which lasts a second, a goodbye which lasts forever.
